Caring For
Our Community

Part of being truly well- Mind, body and soul…
Is giving back.

Health disparities existing in our BIPOC communities have been undeniably worsened by the quality of food, cost of unprocessed food, and the food deserts found in these communities.

For those of us in healthcare and in the heath & wellness space, the COVID-19 pandemic only served to further underscore the severity of these disparities, and reinforced that this is a problem that needs to be addressed, and addressed immediately.

This lack of access to high quality, unprocessed, fresh food is causing folks in these communities to develop completely preventable chronic illnesses, such as Type 2 diabetes, in disproportionate numbers.

Both as a nurse and a coach, this is an issue extremely dear to my heart. Location, race and/or economic status should not doom anyone to a life of preventable chronic illness! EVER.

New Terrain Wellness is fully committed to donating time and resources toward solving this problem. We are currently exploring organizations to partner with in order to most impactfully address this issue directly in our local Los Angeles communities. If you have suggestions or would like to be involved, please email us at Jess@NewTerrainWellness.com. We will be posting updates on this project here and in our newsletter as it evolves.
